Ardyn Izunia
A self-styled "man of no consequence", Ardyn possesses more power than he first lets on. As chancellor of Niflheim, he supervises the highest reaches of government while also overseeing the empire's various research programs.
On a surface level, he is very theatrical and seemingly unbothered by a lot. The man doesn't appear to take much seriously and even makes jokes or pokes fun during dire circumstances. He can come across as creepy and suggestive to unsettle others purposefully. Yet, he is also civil, composed, and calm even in the face of hostility.
Ardyn is intelligent, calculating, and often times manipulative in order to get what he wants. He even seemingly enjoys watching what comes of others playing into his schemes. Almost nothing can stop him once he sets his mind to something, for better or worse.

appearance
Ardyn is a tall man with red-violet hair, amber eyes, and strong facial features. He appears to be middle-aged and dresses in a black trench coat and pinstripe trousers, an attire he is said to have acquired when he became the chancellor of Niflheim. He wears a red scarf and a hooded, gray and white flower-print mantle. Ardyn wears a black fedora though has been known to try on other hats as well.

General Permissions
WRITING: I prefer prose over action brackets these days, but just because it's easier for me to mobile tag if I want. I'll match style though no matter what.
I tend to be more introspective/verbose than ecats leaning, personally, but not every tag will be paragraphs long or anything. I also like a bit of fun text spam as much as the next person occassionally.
BACKTAGGING: I tend to backtag pretty far on threads that might mean significant character development, CR growth, etc. in games. PSLs or meme threads really have no time limit though.
That said, I will check in if approximately a month goes by without a return tag to see if the interest is still there. If not, no worries! We can hash it out and move forward to something easier.
THREADHOPPING: Check in with me and the other party first, but usually it's fine as long as it's appropriate! Or if someone needs to call Ardyn out for something he said, which is also totally plausible.
PRIVATE FILTERS: If applicable, totally fine by me. If marked as [private], I'd also prefer it be kept between those two characters unless worked out otherwise as to why someone would be snooping.
SENSITIVE TOPICS: Ardyn comes with many content warnings that I'll be upfront about and mark for when applicable. The two most prevalent are going to be alcoholism and suicidal ideation.
As a player, my only real limit is intentional/malicious harm to children.
SMUT: I'm completely open to it! The darker and more toxic, the better. I have a preference for writing out smut, but don't mind discussing 'fade to black' scenarios or hashing out the details OOCly.
CONFLICT: As a self-proclaimed villain, this is my expectation rather than something I'll avoid. Ardyn pokes, prods, and provokes people seemingly just for fun a lot. He can be a downright antagonistic asshole if really angry, but never be afraid to communicate if it's too much and I need to rein it in or what we can do for more positive CR either!
VIOLENCE: This is also kind of a given with Ardyn. I'm completely open to anyone getting violent with him, but do know he's going to make it weird. He's a little bit of a freak that way. Pull a knife on him and joke's on you because now he's horny, etc. This is part him trying to unsettle and catch people off guard and part that a healthy BDSM relationship would actually probably help a lot of his issues.
BADMOUTHING: Please! And make sure to link me. Ardyn loves seeing what people say about him - good, bad, or ugly - and I also have fun with it.
THE SCOURGE: Ardyn has a unique affliction referred to as The Starscourge. It's basically a disease that is the desire for darkness and ruination. Sometimes, he oozes inky sludge because of it when he gets a little too emotional. Don't worry about it.
For the purposes of jamjars, he will not be able to infect others nor see their memories unless given explicit permission. I'll be doing this on a case-by-case basis vs blanket permissions. If it comes up and you'd like to discuss what options are, feel free to contact me so we can talk it out!
